Zipedoo Driver Agreement

This is one agreement. Accepting it records your consent to both the Terms of Use (version 4) and the Driver Lead Fee Agreement (version 3).

Be a good friend. Give a friend a ride, or get one. Rides are always free: nothing is paid for a ride, in cash or in any app. Friends return favors.

Zipedoo introduces a person who needs a lift with a friend who is free to drive. Drivers are independent. They are not employees, agents, or partners of Zipedoo. Zipedoo does not provide transportation and takes no responsibility for the ride, the people, the vehicle, or the route.

A chip-in is a share of car expenses the rider chooses when asking for a pickup. It helps cover fuel or electricity, maintenance, tires and brakes, insurance, registration and taxes, depreciation, cleaning, tolls and parking. The driver can accept or decline. It is not a fare. Riders and drivers settle it directly, outside Zipedoo. Zipedoo receives none of that money, and riders never add a card. Riders can pay drivers through third-party apps such as Cash App. Those payments are between the rider, the driver, and that app's provider. Zipedoo is not a party to them and does not process them. Payments between users are outside Zipedoo, and third-party payment services' own terms apply.

For drivers only: Zipedoo may charge your card a flat $5.00 lead fee (advertising fee) each time you accept a ride request, including repeat requests from friends. Your first 3 accepted leads are free. Founding drivers near a launch area may receive 10 free leads. Free leads have no cash value, cannot be transferred or sold, are one allowance per verified person, phone, and device, and may change or end for new drivers. Free leads already granted are honored. That fee is not a chip-in, not a share of the ride, and is owed whether or not the ride or chip-in happens. During testing it can be off or $0. Riders do not pay it. A card is asked only after free leads run out.

You agree to provide a photo of the front of your driver's license. Zipedoo uses it solely to confirm you hold a license. There is no biometric processing, no storage of the license number, no background check, and no motor-vehicle lookup. Riders and other drivers cannot see it. Staff on the admin desk can, through a short-lived signed link, and each view is logged. You cannot offer rides until a photo is on file. If review is required, you cannot go available until it is confirmed. A rejected photo is not enough. The photo is deleted when your account is deleted, when you turn driver mode off, or when staff delete it.

Connection-fee refunds (drivers). You get an automatic refund of the connection fee if (a) the rider cancels before pickup; (b) the rider doesn't start a chip-in within 10 minutes of Accept and you cancel; or (c) you are at the pickup for 5 minutes, the rider doesn't arrive, and you cancel. Zipedoo can't see third-party payments; a claim that a chip-in was short or not received goes to review, decided at Zipedoo's sole discretion. Each driver may receive one automatic connection-fee refund. After that, automatic refunds are suspended. To request a further refund, submit a refund request in the app with proof, such as a screenshot from your payment app. Zipedoo reviews each request and decides, in its sole discretion, whether to refund the fee and reinstate automatic refunds. Zipedoo may deny or reverse any refund that appears to be misused. Automatic refunds are held for 30 minutes after cancellation; if location data during that time indicates the ride took place outside the app, the refund is denied and the ride may be reviewed. Refunds go to the original card within 5–10 business days. Otherwise, refunds are given only for duplicate charges, platform errors, or fraud.

During the beta, connection fees are waived and no charges are made. Free leads are not used up, and no card is asked for.

Messages stay inside Zipedoo. Phone numbers are not shared between the two friends.
