Delete your account
In the app, open Profile and tap Delete account. The account is closed right away and you are signed out on every device.
Or email info@zipedoo.com from the address on the account and ask us to delete it.
What we delete
- Your name, email address, phone number, password, birth month and year, about note and device ID.
- Your profile photo, car details and car photos, and your driver's license and insurance photos.
- Your payment handles, including the copy kept on past ride records, and, for a driver, the card reference used for Zipedoo's lead fee.
- Your customer record at our payment processor, Stripe, with the name, email and saved card it holds. Stripe keeps its own records of past charges and refunds, as payment rules require.
- Your friends and friend requests, your private chats with friends (both sides), and your blocks.
- In ride chats, the text of the messages you sent is erased and the photos you sent are deleted.
- Sign-in sessions, push tokens, notifications, quiet hours, your availability history and your last location.
There is no rider card and no chip-in balance to refund, because chip-ins never go through Zipedoo. Free leads have no cash value and are not refunded as money.
What we keep, and why
- Ratings and reviews. They stay so other members' ratings remain honest. Reviews you wrote are shown as from a deleted user, without your name or photo. The review text stays as written.
- Reports and safety records. Reports you made or that were made about you, issue reports, refund requests and chip-in disputes, with their notes and photos, stay for safety, fraud prevention and to handle complaints.
- Bans. If an account was banned, the ban stays, including the phone number, email and device it covers, so the person cannot sign up again.
- Ride and lead-fee records. They stay without your name, contact details or photos, because payment and tax rules may require them. A ride record still has its date, status, pickup and destination and the chip-in amount.
- Messages other people sent you in a ride chat stay in their chat.
- Logs. A record that the account was deleted, our staff audit log, error logs, and copies of the emails and codes we sent you.
Legal hold
If we must preserve someone's messages, photos and reports, for example after a child-safety report or a request from law enforcement, that account is on legal hold. If you ask to delete an account on legal hold, we close it and sign you out right away, but we delete nothing else until the hold ends. Then the deletion above is carried out. Chats with a person on legal hold, and preserved copies of removed content, are kept for the same reason.
The records we keep have no automatic deletion period today. Deleted data can stay in our database provider's backups for up to 30 days.
